This week, on Foodie Beauty; more drama, Peetz spills the tea on Chantal, and she gets another youtuber into hot water (Takat)
There's some drama brewing in gorl world this week, as Chantal is exposed for some of her lies.
First up, Peetz goes on live and reveals that Chantal is on a tourist visa, exposing a big lie that she is a resident in Kuwait. She is married so shouldn't she be on a residency visa? or maybe she is in the process of applying for it and hasn't quite gotten it yet. Either way, she was caught in a lie as she was telling people that she had residency in Kuwait, which has been exposed as not true. I think if she really is married to Salah (a topic which has been hotly debated in gorl world), she should've just been honest about waiting for her residency permit. But perhaps this is revealing a bigger lie about her; which is that she maybe in a misyar marriage, or not even really married to him at all. Only Chantal knows the truth to that.
Second:
has anyone noticed she has changed her name from foodie beauty to everyday mariam? this may be in response to the soon to be released documentary by Mr. Snowflake about her. His documentaries are known to be quite thorough, and Chantal, having claimed to be a "changed woman" may not be keen on having some of these things brought out about her in the documentary. Since the Kuwait arc began, she has been trying to seem much more pious, a "changed woman" as she puts it, and seems to be seeking a more Muslim audience. Because of these reasons , she may be distancing herself from Foodie Beauty and the brand that surrounds that
Third:
Foodie Beauty is creeping up slowly towards the coveted 100k subscribers, which would get her a plaque from youtube and some notoriety. As she gets closer to this achievement, there is drama around her channel and speculation about her buying subscribers. She denies this and even claims that other people are buying her subscribers to see her "rage" when she gets to 100k and youtube doesn't approve her channel. (Youtube periodically will check channels for whether they follow their TOS, especially when they get to numbers as high as this).
what do you think? Is Foodie buying subscribers? it is strange that her views actually aren't going up but her subscribers are. Although I wonder if she is getting some amount of subscribers from the documentaries and drama that surrounds her. I am personally not subscribed to her, but I wouldn't be surprised if people were.
Fourth:
Foodie gets caught in sub4sub drama and gets another youtuber, Takat in trouble
A subscriber by the name Takat shows up seeking help in Foodie's chats.
But let's take a step back.
Chantal had been participating in some groups of smaller channels, doing something called sub4sub, where everyone subscribes to each other for a subscription in return. It's a way to try to get your numbers up, and since foodie is getting close to 100k, she's trying every tactic out there to achieve this momentous goal. Unfortunately, this type of practice is against the TOS of youtube, and if she participates it's highly likely, especially with the audience she has, that she would get caught. One of the channels that she had been in interaction with and which had been promoting her was called Takat. A muslim channel that made food and had around 40k subscribers. Not a small feat or number of subscribers at all. It seemed that this channel had been promoting Chantal without knowing her history, thinking she was just another wholesome vlog channel, that made content about converting to Islam, being a housewife, Canadian in Kuwait etc. etc. The kind of thing that she was advertising.
to be honest, I don't blame Takat too much for this, since foodie had gone the lengths to delete all her old controversial videos, and change her channel name. If you didn't know she used to be foodie beauty, and thought her name was Mariam and not Chantal, how could you reasonably do research about this woman?
Well Takat started getting a bunch of hate from gorl world followers, and went to Chantal's channel during her live and wrote in Arabic something along the lines of "please sister Mariam I am getting so much hate I don't know what to do", to which she responded to by saying "sorry I don't speak Arabic" basically ignoring someone who had been promoting her channel and had been in contact with Chantal for at least sometime.
Personally, I really feel for Takat, as I said I think if you didn't know who Chantal was it might be difficult to try to search about her. People on twitter did start posting about her and trying to link her to her old content, but there's a possibility that maybe she just didn't have twitter or something else. And I just don't think that it's fair to go attack another channel just because you don't like Foodie Beauty. I find that cruel.
Takat after realizing Chantal's past, and the way she seemed to ignore Takat after getting what she wanted, Takat then turns on Chantal, helping people mass unsubscribe from her channel. And the villain arc is complete.
There's been a lot of drama in the chantal-verse recently which is why I wanted to write about it. Otherwise it's been pretty quiet.
Should I add glitterandlazers to the gorl world list? I think she's slowly coming into gorl world. she's pretty problematic herself.
