Discover Gdynia's Best Eats: A Local's Top Picks for Eating Out
Looking for the best spots to eat in Gdynia? You're in luck! Here are some of my favorite places to eat out in Gdynia. I've had many friends visit me in Gdynia over the years and this is where I usually take them.
-
Bar Mleczny Sloneczny - Visit this place if you want to experience an authentic Polish milk bar. The menu changes daily and consists almost exclusively of typical Polish foods. I recommend kompot, kotlet schabowy and soups. Probably the most affordable place in the center of Gdynia.
-
Ogniem i Piecem Świętojańska - affordable casual pizza place in the center of Gdynia. They serve pizza by the slice, breakfasts, pastas and cakes. It's dog-friendly, has good music, friendly atmosphere and a vaguely "street style" hip vibe.
-
Taverna Zante and Cozzi - a Greek restaurant and an Italian restaurant, both on the same street and with the same owner. Casual dining places with cocktails and Greek / Italian staples. Outdoor seating in spring and summer.
-
Tandyr House, Aga Puri and ISIKA - three Georgian bakeries on Świętojańska street. Tandyr House and ISIKA have small seating areas and most of the baked good / pastries can be heated up for you. The food tends toward rich and meaty, there are vegetarian but not necessarily vegan options. Poland has a sizable Georgian community, hence the bakeries.
-
Kulinarna Ukraina - an authentic Ukrainian place. It's been a while since I've been there but I remember they had good borscht.
-
PÄ…czuÅ› - a Polish donut place, possibly the most popular donut place in Gdynia. They make their pÄ…czki throughout the day so most of the time you get to eat them while they're still warm. Plenty of different fillings are available, such as stawberry, apple and cottage cheese, nutella, peach etc.
-
Turkicz Kebab - a really nice small kebab place with indoor seating. Not your typical fast food kebab, it's more like a kebab version of those artisanal burger places.
-
Pueblo - authentic Mexican / Text-Mex place with a cocktail bar. Busy in the evenings and on weekends so you may need to book in advance.
-
Neon Gdynia - a hip street food bar serving Asian fusion food and drinks. They serve Chinese, Korean and Thai foods. The decor is inspired South-East Asian night markets.
-
Contrast Cafe - a nautical-theme bar with seafood right on Gdynia beach. A lively, occasionally crowded place where locals go out for beers and fish. I recommend their fish soup.
-
Mandu - a small chain of pierogi places in Tricity. They serve various types of typical Polish pierogi, plus some foreign varieties such as Chinese jiaozi and Georgian chinkali.
